Unfortunately, no. Unless it’s displayed in the sidebar, chances are, I will not be translating said CD any time in the near future. I don’t take requests since I’m already on a really tight schedule (I am a full-time student with a part-time job) and have to forcibly make time in order to translate.

Translations are labors of love and I work to provide a steady stream of them at my own expense, so if possible, I’d like you to respect my time.

That said, my commissions are currently open so if there’s something you really wanted translated, that option is available to you.

I’m sure you’ve heard it before, but the simple answer is immersion.

Personally, I’m a person who hates studying, so yeah, I kinda picked up my Japanese along the way over the years from drama CDs, games, visual novels, etc. and going absolute ham with translating (though I would not recommend it for sanity’s sake).

The more you use it, the better you get at it, that’s all I can really say.

Do they have permission? The simple answer is no.

In particular, there has been a trend regarding Youtube.

At the end of day, the effects on me are limited and it’s generally evident that the people in question aren’t able to produce their own translations. However, due to Youtube’s nature, the same can’t be said for the circles and labels of the works involved.

I ask you to refer any offending videos to the original creators ー they are the rightful copyright holders and also the ones most affected (especially when the uploaders use some cringey, clickbaity title and fail to even leave a single mention of the actual work). It can be extremely disheartening considering the view-counts/comments on them, especially for the small circles you find on DLsite.

Of course, as always, please remember to support the original creators!
