I’ll answer any questions you may have below in the comment section, or you can just pop in and say hi ☆⌒(≧▽° )

Can you/will you/are you going to translate *insert CD name*?

Unfortunately, no. Unless it’s displayed in the sidebar, chances are, I will not be translating said CD any time in the near future. I don’t take requests since I’m already on a really tight schedule (I am a full-time student with a part-time job) and have to forcibly make time in order to translate.

Translations are labors of love and I work to provide a steady stream of them at my own expense, so if possible, I’d like you to respect my time.

That said, my commissions are currently open so if there’s something you really wanted translated, that option is available to you.

How did you learn Japanese? Any tips?

I’m sure you’ve heard it before, but the simple answer is immersion.

Personally, I’m a person who hates studying, so yeah, I kinda picked up my Japanese along the way over the years from drama CDs, games, visual novels, etc. and going absolute ham with translating (though I would not recommend it for sanity’s sake).

The more you use it, the better you get at it, that’s all I can really say.

Where/How do you buy CDs?

Digital Options: DLsite JP, Pokedora (streaming only)

Physical Options: Stellaworth, Animate

Proxies (if you find Japanese daunting): FromJapan, Buyee, Zenmarket
Forwarding Services (if you choose to purchase directly): Tenso

On the Issue of Reposters

Do they have permission? The simple answer is no.

In particular, there has been a trend regarding Youtube.

At the end of day, the effects on me are limited and it’s generally evident that the people in question aren’t able to produce their own translations. However, due to Youtube’s nature, the same can’t be said for the circles and labels of the works involved.

I ask you to refer any offending videos to the original creators ー they are the rightful copyright holders and also the ones most affected (especially when the uploaders use some cringey, clickbaity title and fail to even leave a single mention of the actual work). It can be extremely disheartening considering the view-counts/comments on them, especially for the small circles you find on DLsite.

Of course, as always, please remember to support the original creators!

Thank you for your website, but I hope you change the website style back to what it was previously, it is quite overwhelming, lol. But it’s up to you.

Any major change can be felt as overwhelming but when considering the number of translations I have (and will have in the future), I made the decision to switch over to a theme that will be quicker and easier to browse overall.
The primary difference would be the main page for PC, but otherwise, most of everything else should be maintained more or less in the same state.
Not everyone can recognize the romaji title of a CD when viewing my translations list, however, the cover art should click with most people.
But naturally, there are some technicals aspects that I need to smooth out so give me some time to iron those out.

Hello! This is not a question, I just wanted to say thank you for your translations. You upload almost daily, which probably takes up a lot of your free time. Thank you so much for your hard work !! (°◡°♡).:。

You’re welcome, I haven’t been around for long so I’m happy that you were able to find me.╰(*´︶`*)╯
They take up my time, but I think it’s worth it for the sake of sharing this niche hobby with others and to try and remove some the language barrier that comes with it.

So I wanted to ask for some advice. Recently, Animate International is no longer handling pre-orders nor offer free bonuses for their CDs. I thought it is a waste, so I was eyeing the prospect of buying from the JP sites through forward service. What do you think is the better shopping site (Animate, Stella, Seagull, etc) and the best forwarding service?

Note; I actually don’t have a credit card and only use Paypal as payment.

    1. Criy

If you don’t have a credit card, you’ll have to use proxy services in order to complete your purchase for other shopping sites (i.e. Stellaworth) since most only take credit card. So in terms of proxies, I use fromjapan. As for forwarding, I use tenso.

Between the shopping sites, I’d go with Stellaworth since they’ll always have their tokutens in stock, while for Animate, things can sometimes be in the air (pre-ordering too late, etc.) Other sites I generally ignore since the tokutens offered by most labels are with either Animate or Stellaworth. Of course, seeing that you have no credit card, it might be preferable to order from Animate.

      I hope this helps.

Awesome, this really helped. Thank you.

I always ignored people telling me to get a credit card ’cause I know I will blaze through my earnings that way. The limited options actually helped keep finances stable. Nonetheless, this hobby needs to be fulfilled hahaha, so thanks for letting me know I still have options.

      2. Criy

Hehe… Yeah, this is certainly a hobby that can burn through your earnings.
Wasn’t as bad back then when there were few releases, but now there are at least a dozen R-18 CDs releasing each and every month.

Though with tuition costs for me to consider, this hobby has been mostly in the backburner these days for me.
